2. Sessions are paid for using our electronic payment system, and will be charged on the day of the service or within 24-hours. All clients are required to maintain a credit card on file in our HIPAA-compliant client portal, IvyPay.
3. As a virtual-based therapy service, all of our therapy services are provided via HIPAA-compliant videoconferencing, making it easy to access us from wherever you are!
4. We provide a monthly super bills, or itemized receipt of services, for anyone who wishes to pursue out-of-network reimbursement for their services. Be aware that insurers require any applicable ICD-10 diagnoses be listed on this document for your insurance records.
Fees & Insurance FAQ’s
1. Do you take any insurance?
As of 2023, Dr. McHugh and Dr. Sasaki no longer are paneled with any insurance companies. While we wish we could offer this, because we know how important it is for many families to be able to use their insurance coverage for therapeutic services, the current climate of the health insurance system is incredibly unfriendly to mental health providers, and for this reason we can no longer participate in offering our services using these systems.
Insurance companies are currently offering extremely low payments for mental health provider’s services, requiring excessive administrative and paperwork time to process claims, and are often attempting to dictate the types of services and the length of time we can see our clients.
Because of our highly specialized training in the areas of clinical psychology, including certifications for a variety of treatments of specialty (like Parent-Child Interaction Therapy) that require ongoing continuing education and training that is both costly and time-consuming, we cannot afford to be paneled
